ABOUT OUR CHAPTER
We are the oldest regional
NAVHDA chapter, established May 10, 1972. Our committed members have
been training dogs and instructing new members on how to train their
own dogs for years.
The chapter conducts formal training sessions on the first Saturday
of every month from March to September.
The Potomac Chapter of NAVHDA includes members from Maryland,
Virginia, Pennsylvania, Delaware and New Jersey.
The Chapter meets for
regularly scheduled training sessions/clinics at McKee-Beshers
Wildlife Management Area (WMA), Seneca, MD which is located on River
Road in western Montgomery County. McKee-Beshers WMA has gun dog
training areas that are available for year round training. Directions
and maps are on this site.
In addition, the Chapter occasionally hosts
professional training seminars, Handler Clinics and social events
throughout the year. The Potomac Chapter conducts two NAVHDA
sanctioned tests, one in the spring and one in the fall, and the
Chapter also holds meetings in February and June to discuss business
and planning for upcoming events. A schedule of the events is
available on this site.
